IMSU STRIKE: ASUU AND STUDENT UNION GOVERNMENT MEETS TODAY...

Today 25th April 2016, we held a crucial meeting with the Leadership of Academic
Staff Union of Universities -ASUU Imsu Chapter to get the substancial information regarding to their demands from the government and the recently signed Memorandum of Understanding between the Asuu Imsu Chapter and State Government before carrying out our next action.
.
It is worthy of note to inform the general public and Imo stars at large that due to the Unnecessary delay encountered earlier this morning in the process of reaching Asuu, Nasu, Ssanu and other affected Unions demand to ensure the strike is suspended today, the strike could no longer be suspended again today but is hopefully to end possibly within the week as the Vice Chancellor, the governing council are tirelessly doing everything possible to settle this issue on or before Wednesday this week.
.
After much deliberations and intervention from the Student Union Government, The NYSC prospective members were today, directed to come to school tomorrow from 8:00am to collect their statement of result in preparation for their NYSC.
.
The Asuu Chairman appealed to the already aggrieved Student Leaders and numerous of the students who were about to take actions not to embark on any action that will not be friendly with the activities in the state, assuring us that resolutions are seriously being made to suspend the strike within the week.
.
While in the meeting, one of the members of the ASUU Imsu Chapter called on phone to confirm that she just received one month salary sms alert out of the three months that was agreed upon by the state Government and Asuu as the assurance earlier given to us during the meeting by the Asuu Chairman gained more momentum and trust.
.
Asuu Imsu Chapter through her Chairman, further promised to call for an immediate congress to Suspend the delayed strike immediately their salaries are completely paid as agreed on or before Wednesday.
.
NYSC PROSPECTIVE MEMBERS PLEASE GO AND COLLECT YOUR STATEMENT OF RESULT TOMORROW. Thanks.
